 Description: One of my personal favorite photographs. Cincinnati, Ohio`s largest viaduct, the Western Hills Viaduct, was built between 1930 and 1932 as part of the Union Terminal Project. Shot at sunset the day of the blizzard of 2008.

 Description: Connecting Aberdeen, Ohio with Maysville, Kentucky the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge since 1931 it was a toll bridge till 1945. The day the toll was lifted both my mother, who was 12, and father, who was 15 would walk cross the bridge the moment it opened 8 years before they would meet.  Title: Tressle Though A White Abyss
 Description: The Cincinnati area experienced it`s first blizzard in years this past winter. We went driving around during a level 3 snow emergency which means people are to stay off the roads.  Title: Floating Down The Ohio River
 Description: For almost 150 years the John Roebling Bridge has connected the city of Cincinnati Ohio with the city of Covington Ky. Having lived in this area for all my life, this was my first experience of riding the Ohio River in a boat. It is said that Cincinnati has the most beautiful skyline in America`s mid-west.  Title: The Tunnel
 Description: Among the many waterfalls at Clifty Falls State park in Indiana, there is this 600 ft. (182.8m) man made tunnel. The tunnel was built around 1852 by the Madison and Indianapolis Railroad which went bankrupt around the same time leaving it unfinished. Interestingly, we unintentionally rubbed our heads on hibernating bats as we walked through the tunnel. Luckily they were very sleepy. 12mm, 13 sec, f/3.2, ISO-64. Kodak Z812 IS. Edited in Photoshop.

 Title: The Pillars
 Description: I really can`t describe just how tall these two smoke stacks are. We had traveled up a good sized hill in Clifty Falls State Park in Indiana along the Ohio River and we stopped at the lodge located at the top. Upon getting out of the car here were these two goliaths just standing there. It was early morning and the river was shrouded in fog. 6mm, 1/2000, F/5.6, ISO 64. Kodak Z812 IS.  Title: Gateway To Cincinnati
 Description: The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge crosses the Ohio River and connects Cincinnati, Ohio with Covington, Kentucky. Construction took 10 years and was completed in 1866. It is the prototype to New York City`s Brooklyn Bridge who was also designed by Roebling. This photo was taken from the Ohio River on a sunny July 2007 afternoon. 15mm, 1/800, f/3.2 ISO 64.  Title: Cylinder Of Captivity
 Description: Built in 1829, Philadelphia`s Eastern State Penitentiary housed many of America`s most notorious criminals until it was abandoned in 1971. The most famous of these inmates was Al Capone. Built in the style of a wagon wheel, imprisonment here would be awful since there was no heat or air conditioning. This is a photo of cell block #7.  Title: Carosel Of Pain
 Description: In all there are 207 steps to the top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. At each platform there is something interactive to do and a window for viewing. I guess, to keep your mind off the pain in your legs. This area was a focal point of interest on the Sci-Fi t.v. show Ghost Hunters. Weather you believe in ghosts or not, what they catch at the top of the lighthouse looking up the stairs as this photo is now will make your hair stand on end. Kodak Z812 IS. 6mm, 1/8, f/2.8, ISO 64.  Title: The Garita
 Description: The Garita or Sentry Box of Ft. Matanzas keeps watchful eye over the Matanzas inlet. In 1742 the fort was very isolated being 14 miles south of St. Augustine. Under normal conditions there was a complement of 7 men which had one month tours of duty. They rotated with the soldiers stationed at the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine. 6mm, 1/1250, f/5.7, ISO 64. Kodak Z812 IS. Cropped and adjusted in photoshop.

 Title: Ft. Matanzas
 Description: Built by the Spanish to defend the Matanzas inlet 14 miles south of St. Augustine. It defended the city from a southern sneak attack. Completed in 1742 it was abandoned in 1819 when the United States was transfered the possession of Florida. Near this sight 114 French were slaughtered in 1564 by the Spanish. Hence the name matanzas meaning slaughters. 44mm, 1/1250, f/5.7, ISO-64. Kodak Z812 IS. Cropped and enhancement in photoshop.

 Title: The Great Cross Illuminated
 Description: Just north of downtown St. Augustine The Great Cross stands 208 ft. (63.4m) and is the largest cross in the western hemisphere. Experimenting with shudder speeds I was able to capture the beauty of the cross and its reflection in the pond that is before it. I was amazed at the clarity of the crosses reflection. Close to the base you can see where a fish decided to jump as the photo was taken. 6 sec. shudder speed, 100 iso, Kodak Z812 IS.

 Title: Temporary Bridge
 Description: Usually this photograph would have the Bridge Of Lions crossing the Matanzas River. Due to deteriorating conditions of the Bridge Of Lions which had been in use since 1927, the bridge was mostly dismantled to be rehabilitated and reconstructed. Many residents of St. Augustine consider the bridge a national treasure. The bridge in the foreground is a temporary drawbridge. The four towers in the background are part of the old bridge.  Title: Castillo de San Marcos
 Description: In 1672 construction began on the Castillo de San Marcos and was completed in 1695 as part of Spain`s vast New World empire. It is the oldest masonry fort in the continental United States and is built of a local limestone called coquina. The fort is located in `the old city` of downtown St. Augustine Fla. Kodak Z812 IS.

 Title: The Lighthouse Museum
 Description: Continuing working on shudder speed priority I took several photographs of the St. Augustine Lighthouse at night. Built in 1874, the Lighthouse is a non-profit maritime museum open to the public. The tower and grounds have a long history of paranormal activity and has been featured on the Sci-Fi Channel show Ghost Hunters. It`s a good one too. 4 sec. shudder speed, 100 ISO, Kodak Z812 IS.

 Title: War & Peace
 Description: This is a photo of the lower section of the Soldiers National Monument in Gettysburg, PA. Dedicated on July 4, 1869, the soldier on the left represents war and the woman on the right represents Peace. The Battle of Gettysburg, taking place on the dates on the monument, had pro-slavery Americans fighting anti-slavery Americans. Between 46,000 and 51,000 Americans died battling each other here.
