From 1931 to 1945 there was a toll to cross the bridge by foot or by car. Interestingly, both my mother who was 12 and lived in Aberdeen Ohio and my father who was 15 and lived in Maysville Ky. both crossed the bridge the day the toll was lifted. They would meet 8 years later in Cincinnati, Oh.

mellia: Thank you. I actually found this place by chance while out riding my motorcycle one evening in Southern Ohio. The picture is actually comprised of 8 or 9 pictures that were taken from an observation tower from about 50 feet off the ground. I used Autostitch to seam the photos together. When taking the photos, they had to be taken in full manual mode to keep aperture and shutter speed constant throughout the series. Thanks again.
